Last night, the first episode of
Torchwood: Children of Earth aired with the show's highest ever audience ratings.
Day One got unofficial overnight viewer ratings of
5.9 million - with 25.8% of the day's audience; the fifth watched programme of the day and the second watched on BBC One. This opening episode was only beaten in ratings by the three main soaps. The final, official viewer ratings will be available in two weeks.
This news means that the possibility of a fourth Torchwood series is becoming more and more likey, as it is depending entirely on the success and popularity of Series 3, Children of Earth.
