Fan-Art: “I Love New Planets”

articleimage_424

This is the first of what will hopefully be a new, semi-regular feature of DWF of some of my fan-art of Doctor Who and its spin-offs. This first piece of artwork is called “I Love New Planets”, reminiscent of the Eleventh Doctor’s line in ‘A Christmas Carol’.

I drew this just last night and I'm pretty damn proud of it as it was just meant to be a silly little doodle at first.

It's based around the moment in Doctor Who's 2010 Christmas special, 'A Christmas Carol' when ,on an Earth-like planet where the fish swim in the fog, the Eleventh Doctor sees some small fish swimming around a street lamp and says, "I love new planets..."

NOTE: I'm also planning on updating it with the street lamp's light and shading.

Made entirely by Jamesgrayh owner of Doctor Who Fansite and may not be reproduced in any way.

Well, I say a few, there are 60 of them in total! I better not waste any more space in this post then…

Series Six Trailer!

Wasn't 'A Christmas Carol' brilliant? And on top of that we were treated to the traditional 'Coming Soon' trailer, this time a one-minute trailer for Series Six, featuring most-notably the TARDIS team in the desserts of Utah and sweeping dessert helicopter shots, alongside The Doctor in the White House's Oval Office, a familiar beard-y man, creepy dolls, and other pretty exciting prospects...

"I wear a Stetson now... Stetson's are cool."

What do you think of it? What are you looking forward to most?

Fez-tacular Figure!

articleimage_421 Steven Moffat has revealed a bit of information of what seems to be a possible and probable future Character Online Doctor Who action figure of Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor in his full Series 5 costume, but with trademark fez accessory and… wait for it… mop from ‘The Big Bang’!

These are The Moff's actual tweets:
@steven_moffat Steven Moffat
”I have an 11th Doctor action figure WITH A FEZ!!!!!”

@steven_moffat Steven Moffat
”Also ......... A MOP!!!"

No official announcement or any kind of leak of photos have been made as of yet, but I’m certainly keeping my fingers crossed.

New Series Novelisations Project!

articleimage_420 I am currently involved in a collaborative project with two others where we are developing a series of novelisations of new series episodes of Doctor Who (2005 onwards).

The project is being done by me (James, owner, writer and graphics designer of Doctor Who Fansite – I am writing some novelisations and producing the covers for each), Emma (owner of the blog Tardis Console News who is writing), and Eternal who is also writing some of the novelisations and, excitingly, has already completed one, but you'll have to wait to find out which!

Keep checking DWF and Emma's site Tardis Console News for more news soon!

Amy Pond Kissogram-Outfit Action Figure

The Mirror ‘newspaper’ has recently reported the news of an upcoming action figure of Amy Pond in her Policewoman kissogram costume outfit, but it seems this time the red-top tabloid may be telling the truth, as their article on the subject features a photo of the said action figure, which could be proof.

We have no confirmation that this is an official action figure as of yet, but The Mirror claims that it will be released in around two weeks time.

Marshall Lancaster in Series Six

articleimage_418 According to his online CV, actor Marshall Lancaster will be a guest star in Series Six of Doctor Who in what is thought to be the episodes 5 and 6 two-parter penned by Matthew Graham (who previously wrote the popular *cough* episode ‘Fear Her’ in Series 2), which is rumoured to be titled ‘The Rebel Flesh’ and ‘Gangers’.

The northern actor is best-known for his role as D.I. Chris Skelton from 2006

to 2010 in popular time-travelling UK drama Life On Mars, where he starred alongside John Simm (known to us as The Master from Series 3 to ‘The End ‘Of Time’), and its spin-off drama Ashes To Ashes, both shows were also co-created and co-written by Matthew Graham.

The two-parter story  is rumoured to feature and office block staffed by clones going wrong, described by Steven *The Moff* Moffat as the, “workforce that will haunt your dreams”.
