Children of Earth - Days Two & Three Ratings

The unofficial audience ratings for the second and third episodes of Torchwood: Children of Earth have been released.

Day Two, which debuted on Tuesday night, got an average of 5.6 million viewers! This makes it the highest watched programme of the day, even beating the likes of soaps Eastenders and Emmerdale. Like Day One, Day Two's audience grew larger and larger throughout its hour time slot with a total of 24% share of the entire day's viewers. A further 82,000 viewers tuned in for the second episode on the BBC HD channel and 282,000 more watched the BBC Three repeat at 11:45pm. The Appreciation Index for this episode was a fantastic 90.

Day Three, last night, recieved an average total of 5.9 million viewers, making it the third watched programme of the day, and got an impressive 27.1% share of yesterday's audience. The BBC HD channel's airing of Day Three got around 105,000 viewers, but more than double watched the late night BBC Three repeat with 225,000. The total of all these viewers would make this episode jump forward into second place, ahead of Emmerdale.
