Parting of the Ways

It has been confirmed that Sheridan Smith is soon to leave the Eighth Doctor Big Finish audio plays. Sheridan's character Lucie Miller will be parting from Paul McGann's Doctor in the next series' first story, 'Death in Blackpool' with an emotional parting for the two of them.

Nicholas Briggs, executive producer for the Doctor Who Big Finish audios and voice of the Daleks and Cybermen, commented: "It may seem strange to begin the season with Lucie's exit, but we've some interesting twists and turns planned."

'Death in Blackpool' is due for release in December 2009.
