It has been announced tonight, at the Doctor Who ‘The Doctor, The Widow, and The Wardrobe’ press release, that Amy and Rory Pond will depart in Series 7, and will be replaced by a new companion to adventure alongside Matt Smith’s incarnation of The Doctor.
Doctor Who Magazine’s confirmed the entrance of a new companion in Series 7 earlier this year.

Doctor Who ‘The Doctor, The Widow, and The Wardrobe’ will broadcast Xmas Day - BBC One/HD at 7PM(UK), and the same day on BBC America at 9/8c (US) and Space (Canada), and UKTV (Australia) on 26th Dec.
